bored

After years of doing the same thing, one can get “bored. If it is a job, there is no time to whine about getting bored because sales are involved. So I can endure it to a great extent, but even so, after 20 years of doing it, I still get tired of it. This proves once again that continuity is a difficult task.

Being “bored” decreases motivation. When we first started out, we were excited to see what was going to happen, and it was a great source of fighting spirit. But if you keep at it for a long time, you gradually get stuck in a rut and lose the freshness. For simple tasks, it is still good. You can completely separate yourself from the work, become a robot, kill your emotions, and just move your arms and legs. If it is something you can get through, it is still bearable.
The trouble is when you are required to be creative, but you are “bored” with the work. It is very tough when the subject matter is the same but different designs, ideas, etc. are required every year. If you are unmotivated and have an empty “drawer” where you have accumulated experience, you will be almost useless as a creator.

I am afraid that I write as if I know everything about the creative world. I often play the role of a producer, and since I am neither a designer nor a director in my own right, I do not understand the rigors of a true craftsman. However, as someone who works alongside such people, I feel that creativity is undeniably degraded by continuity. I think it is inevitable. I understand that creativity lives in a different realm from that of reason and responsibility. So it is no one’s fault.

If it is possible to change the person actually in charge of the work and have the previous person oversee the same work in a supervisory capacity, that would be the best way to go. In a large company, I think this is the best way to secure sales and develop human resources while rotating work in this way. However, it is difficult for a sole proprietor like myself.
No matter what kind of work we do, we cannot survive without steadily finishing each one and securing sales. Again, this is not the time to say “I get bored. However, the feeling of boredom is so uncontrollable and rampant that it may be one of our instincts. The only way I can think of now is to get along with it and fool around with it.

If only I could get more and more new jobs!
