[Four-day Workweek System]

Four-day Workweek System

A major company is going to work on a four-day workweek. If you can work one less day a week and still get paid the same, that would be great. But is that actually possible? I’ve never worked for a large company, so I don’t really know, but my feeling is, “No, that’s not possible!” I simply think that.
I wonder if sales at top companies increase on their own without having to work. Or is it not “unearned income” for the company, but rather, the company is secure without having to do anything, and the employees’ salaries are merely a tax measure to cover expenses? If this is the case, then one more day off would not be a big deal. In any case, there are many things in this world that I don’t understand how they can do such a thing.

In my case, if I were to improve my work efficiency immensely, and that is to say, when I come to work, I would not waste any time talking, not even drinking tea, and concentrate only on my work, I might be able to earn at least half a day in a week. It seems to me that I am being allowed to work very comfortably. But I think it would be quite difficult to shorten it to a whole day.
I think, “If only I could get rid of my emotions and work as accurately and tirelessly as a robot ……,” but I’m afraid something would break down. I don’t think I’ll recover in three days off. It seems to me that such a hellish work environment would be the end of the world, and I would be fine with a two-day weekend.

A friend of mine changed jobs about two years ago to a company that handles everything from product development to sales in-house. He said, “The company I work for now pays less, but it’s fun, like going to some kind of school. I thought that was the best thing about it, and to be honest, I envied him. Some people prefer a higher salary even if the work environment is tough, while others, like my friend, focus on “satisfaction,” and still others cannot find a job even if they want to work. Once again, I feel the diversity of “ways of working,” and in addition, I feel a mysterious connection between “fate,” or the company/occupation that each person encounters, and the person himself/herself. I still think that I should be grateful just to have a job.

The “secret” behind the four-day workweek is that it is supposed to increase the daily working hours from Monday to Thursday by 2 to 3 hours, in other words, to keep the total working hours the same, and to give Friday off as a day off. It would be like working overtime from Monday to Thursday. This would be numerically feasible, but it is only possible in a proper company. In small companies, “undeclared” overtime work every day is commonplace, and I think there are quite a few people who work so much that adding more overtime on weekdays would be problematic. I’ve heard that this has been improving recently. …….
In conclusion, it is difficult to have a four-day workweek. It feels like a bunch of nonsense from the upper class. To begin with, it is nice to be able to take two days off a week. The “good treatment” of two days off a week, which was unthinkable when we started working, is now the norm. This means that perhaps in a few years, we will be able to take three days off.

Regardless of the number of days off, I will not take a break from blogging!
