2)[The Burning Heart (Part 2)]

The Burning Heart (Part 2)

I feel like I am in the middle of a pinch, looking for an “excuse” in case I fail or fail to move. Maybe I am trying to somehow escape from the responsibility of not having achieved a superior result. It seems that I have already started looking for excuses when my feet are on the edge of the ring, when I have to fight the hardest and exert my bottom-line strength to the utmost. In other words, even before losing, I am already thinking about how to defend myself after losing. With such a cowardly attitude, there is no way I can exert my strength at the last minute. Unfortunately, that is my nature.

When you are in a tight spot, in most cases you will have to take some action to turn things around. In my case, however, I am usually too scared to do anything, so the result is obvious without having to wait. In other words, it has already been decided at the time of the pinch that the responsibility will fall on me.
However, responsibility does not mean that I have to take the blame every time something happens, although that may be the case on a case-by-case basis. It is strange to think that I am responsible for everything that happens. So why am I so afraid? What exactly am I afraid of? It doesn’t seem to be self-consciousness, but something more, something I am not consciously aware of.

I wanted to be braver, to be able to jump into the fire. I wanted to be a strong hero, full of drive and action, able to turn any pinch into an opportunity. Therefore, to realize my true self, which is the opposite of such an ideal, timid and weak, is nothing but disappointment, and the act of trying to face it is extremely painful.
However, I would like to somehow get through the pain and continue my attempt to touch something hidden deep inside of me. That feeling has probably been in me for quite some time, and it seems that I have properly realized it when I came here. I feel as if there is a path there that I should go down. It is not hard to imagine that it is an extremely tough road.

And though it was really painful, I looked deep into my heart. Why am I stuck in a pinch? Why do I look for excuses? After the pinch, which turned my face red, and after going through it as usual without being able to do anything, I faced myself honestly. It was a tough game in a way, too.
In a word, I think I am “running away from having my ego bruised. When I can afford it, I can be an “adult” and pay attention to the position and feelings of others, and I can sometimes make choices that put the interests of others before my own. However, when I am really in a tight spot, the self-centered, real me that “cares more about myself than anything else in the world” may show its face. The real me, whether I admit it or not, is in fact a much more muddled and mean-spirited person.
