[A Place to Relax]

A Place to Relax

I am stifled in an atmosphere that does not allow me to be weak, complain, or take advantage of anyone. I want to keep a positive attitude and try to move forward and up, but I can’t always be my strong self.
I guess I should cheer up more when I am feeling down or depressed. I often read such things in what are called self-help books. I think this is absolutely true. However, it doesn’t work that way for me, and I think it’s human nature. Therefore, I think it would be very helpful if there is a place where we can vent our pain when we are feeling a little stuck.

I think there is a matter of degree. It is not good to waste time complaining and consoling each other all the time. Where to draw the line is a difficult question. What I am trying to say, however, is that there are many people in the world who are working hard, not just those around me, and they need a place where they can feel healing and comfort. If we push ourselves too hard and hold back too much, that tension will probably be felt by those around us, and the awkward atmosphere will spread. This would cause everyone to suffer.

For those who live in such a severe world where every minute counts, telling them to “take it easy” in the midst of such a situation would only be a hindrance. I have no experience in such a severe world, but I can imagine how hard it is. I wish there was a time and place where people who are always trying their best could release their feelings, whether it be weakness, boasting, swearing, or whatever. Or they need to feel a sense of security that they will be accepted. The fact that many people are unable to find such a place in the real world is probably undermining the minds of people today.

I wonder if this kind of emotional deterioration has led to the harsh expressions on the Internet. Is this not so? There are many people who use the anonymity of the Internet as an opportunity to express themselves only within a group, and they use foul language. There are people who are usually calm but suddenly use aggressive expressions on social networking sites. Yesterday, one of my friends wrote an opinion on social networking sites. It wasn’t directed at me, but the expression was so bad that it almost broke my heart and I blocked it. It makes me really sad.
On the other hand, I wonder if the Internet can be such a “healing place”. I don’t know, but maybe there are people who are making effective use of the Internet in this way. Since we have a system that allows us to connect with people all over the world so easily, I would like to use it not as an outlet for stress, but in a way that contributes to many people being able to communicate with each other hand in hand. I don’t think it’s good to be dependent on the Internet or smartphones, and the question of “where to draw the line” will come up here as well. But if people who are always working hard can have a moment of relief there, I think a little addiction is inevitable.

It’s okay to be pampered once in a while.
