[He who runs after two hares]

He who runs after two hares

The day after a day when I’ve been so excited about something that I’ve been immersed in it and worked hard, my mood inevitably drops. There will be a lingering feeling of the previous day, and after all, I feel tired. It is hard to find the motivation to “go for it again today! It is only natural that one would feel a decline in physical strength, and the feeling of sadness and frustration would make one’s mood even more depressed.
That doesn’t mean you can’t relax while immersed in the process, taking into account what will happen the next day. I can’t “yet,” at least, pass up a chance to experience the best part of life that I have just encountered. Still, as I always write in this blog, my goal is to “maintain a stable mental state every day,” and I wonder if it will still be difficult to achieve these two contradictory goals.

I simply wonder if this is the right time. My physical strength is declining, but I am gradually finding things that I really want to do and think I should do, such as volunteer activities. I think I don’t know how to balance my physical strength and the things I want to do. Balance between mind and body. Balance between mental strength and stamina.
When I look at the relationship between what I am doing now and what I am going to do in the future and my current situation, I still feel that I am pushing myself too hard. However, I have a feeling that things will get better if I can hold out a little longer, and if I can do some training to improve my physical strength now that the weather is getting warmer. As someone who has had a bitter experience of being rushed to the emergency room after trying too hard, I feel a little intimidated, but I am willing to give it a careful try.

Strength is not only physical stamina, but also mental stamina. I think the only way to get used to this is to experience hard situations over and over again. Praying, meditating, or doing yoga may be good ways to do this, but first I want to increase my experience by doing the things I want to do. I feel like using stamina again to remember a whole new way to increase stamina would be counterproductive.
On the other hand, once I get used to something, I tend to lose my sense of urgency and become bored. It’s a very troublesome personality. If that happened, there would be nothing left to do. I am not sure how things will turn out, but I would like to gain more experience without being afraid of getting bored. And as for the volunteer work I’m trying now, it’s very hard work, and I don’t expect to get used to it easily anytime soon.

I think it is a blessing to be able to stay on the edge of my seat even though I am actually old enough. I sometime think that I should be more firmly grounded, but I may stay like this until the day I die. I am fine with that. I try, I fail, I get depressed, I cry, I try again, and, well, I think that’s OK. In any case, I will take care of myself. As long as I’m feeling happy, I can still go.

I’ll find something I can immerse myself in to add to my stable daily life.
