There is a teaching in the Bible that is spoken of by the expression “discarded stones. When a person wants to build a house, the first thing he does is to clear the ground to create a foundation. In the process, stones that are not needed are naturally thrown away because they are in the way. However, I think it is safe to say that the stone that people throw away is Jesus.
The building he was going to build may have been his home to stabilize his life, or it may have been a church for everyone to gather and pray. Either way, it is something that is being built for the convenience of man, not the work of God. Jesus was also crucified for human reasons. He was judged as unnecessary and superfluous to society and was abandoned by the people. Jesus is the representative of the abandoned, and therefore can govern the solidarity among the abandoned. He can attend to the despair of the abandoned and shine a light of hope on them. And he can make the abandoned people look into the darkness of their own hearts.

This teaching has been very strong in my heart since I knew it. It seems to be related to a wall I am currently feeling that is detrimental to learning more about Christianity. There is nothing wrong with trying to build buildings, and I think that building churches, etc. is something that should be done with great enthusiasm. However, what is being questioned here is whether or not the things that we aspire to do in order to get closer to the Kingdom of God are necessarily good for God. In other words, there are times when we do things that we think are good for God, but they end up going in the opposite direction of His will. When we get carried away, we end up throwing away things that we should not throw away.

As I have written before, I have the problem of “belief” and “faith” in my mind. As I struggle to understand what “faith” is, I live my life thinking that the only thing I can do is to pursue “belief. I believe that faith will be waiting for me. I will do what I can do today with sincerity and to the best of my ability. This is my “belief,” but I feel like, “What more can I do? Maybe one day I’ll be struck by lightning and suddenly have faith, but I can’t just sit around and wait for it. After all, I feel that I can’t reach faith without scratching my head, resisting, and making a lot of effort. The fact that I write this blog every day is the best proof of this.
However, the teachings of the “discarded stone” tell me that this is not the case. It tells me that it is a mistake to think that I can only do this. I think I am blindly trying to build a house for myself, according to my own logic, according to my own convenience. I think I’m unknowingly throwing something away.

I think it is wrong to try to control everything by myself. But then, what should I do? I’ve been listening to my heart in prayer, cherishing the thoughts that come to me, and acting honestly. According to my teacher, “Faith is in the opposite direction of your thoughts. When you say opposite, I’m not even sure which way I’m facing right now.

If you don’t get rid of it, you don’t know the disappointment of the person who did.
