JOLT

JOLT

I like the actor Kate Beckinsale, and whenever I find a movie with her in it, I always try to watch it. I think she is cool, not only because of her feminine charms of being beautiful and stylish, but also because of her strength and attitude. I am simply a meek fan. She has appeared in many movies with a lot of action scenes, and if she were to go as far as Milla Jovovich in the Resident Evil series, it would be too extreme and a little scary, but Kate is “just right” for me. I can understand why the casting directors would want to use her.

I saw “JOLT” in which she played the lead role. The quality of the movie as a whole was not very good, to say the least. For a story involving an entire city, the number of actors, including extras, was simply too small, and the sets were too fake. Maybe they didn’t have much budget? The premise of the film was interesting and I had high hopes for it at first, but once the story started to unfold, I found myself wondering why it didn’t work that way. Well, as a Kate fan, I’m okay with it because it was an image I enjoyed, but as a movie fan, I thought 3.5 stars was too lenient a rating.

There was only one point in the story that stuck with me in a good way. The main character, Kate, plays a “broken” person. Once she gets angry at a person, no matter how trivial, it escalates to the point where she can’t control herself, and as a result, she tries to eliminate that person through violence. Just when the anger is about to reach its peak, the protagonist presses a large “switch” that she keeps in her hand at all times, which causes a strong electric current to flow out from the devices all over her body, and the anger subsides. It is an “Anger Control Switch” so to speak.
The protagonist is afraid of hurting someone because of her anger, and is unable to let go of this switch. Then, a man appears in front of her. As the conversation progresses, the more she trusts him and let him in, the less she gets angry. The way the stubborn heart melted away easily when someone else came close to it was portrayed smoothly but clearly.

I, too, have a problem with anger management. Whenever I get angry, I get caught up in the event and can’t change my mind, and I can’t come out of the flames of anger forever. In my case, when I get angry, my heart starts palpitating so fast that I think I’m going to collapse. Even though I’m that upset and in pain, I can’t stop being angry. I think this tendency is getting stronger as I get older. I really have to be careful.
Watching this movie, I genuinely wanted a switch. I hate myself for being angry, and there is absolutely nothing good about flying into a rage around. I know that sometimes anger is necessary, but I hope that the same anger will be of a different quality.
I know that what I need is not a switch. I don’t think it’s a problem that can be solved by relying on a specific person. I haven’t found the answer yet, but for now, when I get angry, I repeat in my mind, “Smile and be respectful, smile and be respectful.

If I’m going to die suddenly, it’s going to be a heart attack.
