生身のままで[in the flesh]

in the flesh

I really think that every day is a struggle! I fight against my laziness. I should just follow the schedule I’ve laid out in my head, but I can’t seem to do it. I am not talking about such a big thing. It’s about the things I do in my daily life, like reading, running, and writing this blog. If I have a partner to work with and we can “coordinate our schedules,” I can do pretty much anything with a lot of honesty, but when it comes to solo activities, it just doesn’t work. When I seem to have a little time to spare, I end up wasting it. I feel sorry for myself because I am so naive, no matter how old I get. But I’m half resigned to the fact that this feeling will probably never be corrected.

It’s not that there aren’t days when I can. There are times when I can do what I want to do steadily and focus that I am a little surprised at myself. The point is that the gap between when I can and can’t do things is so drastic that I can’t convince myself that I’m mentally stable.
I wonder how those who are always able to do it right do it. I don’t think there are that many people who can discipline themselves, but I guess the “great” people have made such efforts. That’s why their names are out there, and that’s why they have become what I know them to be. I really admire them. People who have accumulated something, rather than just hitting it with a bang, are wonderful. I don’t need to sell my name at all, but I would like to be someone who can continue to do something like that. I feel that kind of longing has been there for a long time.

I am good at “fantasizing,” so I wonder if it would be possible to put some kind of “spell” on myself, not hypnotism, so that I could do certain movements at certain times without thinking about it. I may be “delusional” to even think about it, but I wonder if there is some way to brainwash myself, some way to stabilize my mind.
But even if I could actually become such a robot, even if I succeeded in accumulating daily activities, I would probably still feel empty. It would be meaningless unless I, the “useless” me, try my best as it is in the flesh. I think another meaning will reside in the repetition of being able to do something and not being able to do something, and continuing to suffer and agonize over it. Perhaps it is not a question of whether I was able to do it or not.

I feel as if I am writing the same thing every day. But I think that’s okay. That is my current limit and my true self. It is okay to expose my bad self. I think this place should be such a place to resist. There is no way I can continue to write articles that are completely new every day and finished to my great satisfaction. It may be poor writing, but I will try my best to write, and after all, I want to make “continuity” my goal. I can already feel a slight change in myself as I continue to write.
I am experiencing the pain of continuing. But that is why I think there is meaning in “continuing,” and it seems to make sense with what I am longing for. I strive every day to make a sentence that I am satisfied with.

Now, I think I’ll go for a little run!
