[Natural Behavior]

Natural Behavior

Having lived for 55 years, I have learned and thought about many things in my own way. Although not backed by any kind of authority, I have gained a certain amount of experience and developed my own way of thinking. To others, these ideas may be completely worthless. However, even though I am such a useless person, there are people who come to me when they are in trouble. When I am able to help them in some small way, or when I am able to find a clue that helps them see the light through talking with me, I feel the greatest joy.

I am so happy when my story fits the person I am talking to and makes them happy. It warms my heart to know that I have connected with that person. It is one of the best moments I can think of right now.
But it is precisely in such moments that I have to be careful. When I am in a good mood, I feel good and I tend to get carried away and say unnecessary things. If I’m not careful, sometimes I’m discussing the other person’s problems or concerns, but before I know it, it’s all about me. I say things like, “I think it is important to be humble,” but I myself am not humble enough. It is truly shameful. I must remind myself that I cannot be so presumptuous.

I may make more spectacular mistakes in the future. I hope it will not be irreversible, but if there is someone who needs me, I would like to do everything I can to help them, even if I have to take that risk. Of course, I can’t do much. I think the main thing is to listen.
Sometimes just confiding in someone that you have a problem can help. I don’t know why, but sometimes I feel as if I’ve solved the problem a little by talking about it. Also, you may find that you are aware of your own weakness hidden behind your problems, and you may be able to sort out what is really bothering you and why. It is a very difficult experience to have when you don’t talk about your problems with others, because it brings out the outlines of your problems that cannot be seen from your own perspective.

It often boils down to thinking about yourself on your own. It is difficult to look at oneself objectively. Even if we say, “Try to think from a different perspective,” I don’t think it is as easy to do as it sounds in words. If you have someone you can rely on, why not rely on them from time to time? It should not be a bad thing to ask for advice.
I think we are creatures who depend on the existence of others more than we realize. It is because of others that we can be sure of where we are. Therefore, to think that we cannot depend on others after all this time is evidence that we do not objectively perceive our own existence. Each one of us is not that important. It is probably far more natural than we think to be humble in the true sense of the word, and to ask for help. It would be better not to force ourselves to prevent it. That’s what I keep reminding myself.

 I keep getting sidetracked.
