[Book “The Art of Listening”]

Book “The Art of Listening”

When one stands on the side of explaining “human beings” and tries to assert one idea, it is sometimes difficult to explain without setting conditions, or should I say, assumptions. When reading a book, for example, the author may say, “Humans are greedy creatures.” Of course, there are many different angles from which one can view “how humans are perceived,” but unless the author fixes his/her own perception to some extent, even if a little forcefully, it is impossible to develop the logic.
If the reader rejects the premise of the logic by saying, for example, “Humans are not greedy,” he or she will be deafened by the author’s opinion. For the reader, it can be a painful and difficult task to listen to the next development when he or she cannot accept the premise. But you have to be tolerant there, or you will lose the chance to encounter a new way of thinking. So once you accept and consider it, and if the result is that the idea is no longer necessary for you, you can discard it. I believe that maintaining tolerance is essential if we are to achieve personal growth.

A book I read the other day had the premise that humans desire a sense of usefulness. The book I am reading now says, “Humans like to talk about themselves.” My own theory is that humans are creatures who want to live for others. Each of these assumptions has its own “sticking point,” and I think it is not easy to swallow them as they are.
However, each of them has probably gone through various processes to arrive at these assumptions. I imagine that it is not something that just came to them at a moment’s notice. I am not saying that the authors’ premise is “that’s all there is to human beings. They put it at the beginning of their logic as an aspect or as one of the major characteristics that would apply to many people. So, perhaps you may feel uncomfortable at first, but I think you should overcome your own barriers and throw yourself into the new world.

I find myself disagreeing with the notion that “people like to talk about themselves.” I am aware that I am not good at talking about myself. I really do. But I don’t know, this blog. I write only about myself. Every day. It is true that I may not be good at “talking,” but I am expressing myself in other ways. I’m starting to feel ashamed of myself for saying I’m not good at it. I don’t know myself at any age.

While questioning the premise of the book I’m reading, I feel like I’m discovering a new me again. When it comes to myself, I have a really hard time bringing myself into a relative mindset. I can’t stay calm and I can’t see what’s going on around me. I believe that “one can only improve oneself between people.” I would like to grow through reading and also through interaction with others.

I could write more about this book.
