今日は天気が良い。梅雨の合間の爽やかな一日。青空を見上げてスーッと息を吸い、少し笑顔で幸せをかみしめる。「なんて幸せなんだろう」。生きていることはこんなにも素晴らしい。こうして何の不自由なく、病気もせず、健康に暮らせる恵みに感謝したい。
　生きていれば嫌なことも苦しいこともいろいろあるけれど、この幸せな気持ちを忘れたくない。こんなにも恵まれた環境を与えてもらって、それ以上何を望もうというのだ。後のことは人間それぞれが責任をもって営んでいけば良いと思う。

　金持ちになりたい、有名になりたい、尊敬されたい等々、欲望は尽きない。私もそのような強欲な一人だ。私の中にも間違いなく金銭欲をはじめとする強烈な欲がある。でも欲を出せばキリがないように思う。成果を上げればまたその上の利益を求めるのが人間ではないだろうか。どこまで行っても欲し続ける。企業などの人間の集合体も同様で、利潤追求が考え方の基本にあると思う。

　実際にお金を稼がなければこの社会の中では食べていけないし、家族を養っていくことができない。生活が成り立たない。だからそれでいいのだと思う。利益を上げられるように一人一人が頑張ればいい。誰かを傷つけたり騙したりすることなく、ルールに則っているのであれば、それはむしろしなければならないことだ。それは強欲のままに行動することとは全く違う話だと思う。

　そんな、“人間の強欲について”のようなちょっとダークなことを考えながら、眩しく青い空を見つめた。この幸せな気持ちを忘れなければ、「自分だけ良ければいい」という考えには陥らないのではないかと思った。
　儲けるのは良い。私もたくさん儲けたい。でもこの先もの凄く儲かるような事があったとしたら、この幸せを感じられる環境にいない人たちのために貢献したい。

Beyond the Blue Sky

　It’s a beautiful day. A refreshing day in between the rainy season. I look up at the blue sky, take a quick breath, smile a little, and bite back happiness. How happy I am! Being alive is so wonderful. I want to thank God for the blessing of being able to live in good health, without any inconvenience or illness.
　I do not want to forget this happy feeling, even though there are many things that are unpleasant and painful in life. What more can we ask for when we have been given such a blessed environment? I think that each person should be responsible for the rest of his or her own life.

　There is no end to our desires to be rich, famous, respected, and so on. I am one such greedy person. There is no doubt in my mind that I have strong greed, including the desire for money.
　But there seems to be no end to the greed. I think it is human nature to seek for more profit after achieving success. No matter how far we go, we continue to desire. The same is true of human aggregates such as corporations, where the pursuit of profit is fundamental to the way we think.

　Without actually earning money, we would not be able to eat or support our families in this society. We cannot make a living. So I think that is fine. Each one of us should work hard so that we can make a profit. If we are following the rules without hurting or cheating anyone, then that is what we should rather do. That is a completely different story from acting out of greed.

　I gazed at the dazzling blue sky while thinking about something a little darker, like “about human greed. I thought that if I did not forget this happy feeling, I would not fall into the trap of thinking that “it is good enough only for me.
　It is good to make money. I want to make a lot of money too. But if I were to make a lot of money in the future, I would like to contribute to those who are not in an environment where they can feel this happiness.

　I want to pay off my debt as soon as possible.
